Ganesh Himal (7429m) is
located in west part of
Nepal between Manaslu and
Lang tang ranges. Ganesh
Himal range is easily
accessed from Katmandu
valley. The trekking starts
from Betrawati (six hours
drive from Katmandu) and
ends at Gorkha (seven hours
drive from Katmandu). The
maximum altitude of this
trek is 4600m to 5000m and
trekkers has to cross high
pass and narrow trails; as a
result some of the parts are
quite strenuous. Good health
and prior experience of
hiking is necessary.
Trekking in this region is
recommended for its rich
Flora: the impressive
display of beriberi’s,
primula, orchids and a
variety of Ferns, the
valleys set ablaze by yellow
blossoms of double Jasmine,
the forest dense with
Spanish oak, blue pine, and
in spring time blossoming of
the rhododendron set whole
forest alight in spectacular
arrays of color. The
trekking route passes
through quite Tamang
villages, hot spas, gorges
and glaciers and reaches
Sangjung Kharka and Khola
Kharka to view Ganesh Himal
V & II, Lang tang Li Rung
(7,225m) and Paldor etc.The
trek offers a superb
opportunity to enjoy
magnificent mountains and to
discover rich flora in this
remote region of Nepal.
