Hiking and Biking around Pokhara Valley Rim
Taking to your feet is the only way to see most mountain areas of Nepal but it is also the best way to see the valley rich in cultural diversity, snowcapped mountains and the beautiful lakes If Katmandu is the cultural hub of Nepal, then Pokhara is its center of adventure. An enchanting city nestled in a tranquil valley; it is the starting point of many Nepal’s most popular trekking, hiking, biking, paragliding and rafting destinations.
Picturesque villages, gently rolling chains of hills with terraced fields of rice, subtropical forests and the unique outline of the Himalayas - whose gigantic mountains are only thirty kilometers away This Land, is very much favorable for mountain bikers. There are many routes for biking which are full of mountain views and typical mountain villages.

Our programs:
We will take a packed lunch or some sandwiches and fruit and have it with a relaxed time. We will linger in the rice fields, wonder at the haunting views of Lakes Mountains and green forest and enjoy the shy smile of a passing beauty.

Pokhara –Sarangkot-Pokhara
The Sarangkot hill is very popular for its best Mountains and sunrise view. We start our trip early morning around 5-5:30 am by car .Normally sun rises at 6 am. After the sunrise and Mountain View we walk down from sarangkot along with the pokhara city view and the Fewa lake view with green forest. We walk around 4-5 hours.
Note:-The length of the time depends on your choice of route.

Pokhara- sarangkot- Naudanda- Dhampus – Pokhara (2 days)
This route is popular both for mountain and sunrise view and to experience the Nepalese village life. The view point, Sarangkot offers the excellent panoramic view of Annapurnas and the sunrise while Naudanda offers the dramatic view of the twin tails of Machapuchhre (Fishtail) and the massif Dhaulagiri view. We walk through the Kaskikot village ,Naudanda village and the culturally rich Dhampus village where the view of Annapurnas seems very close and we can feel the cool and fresh air of the mountains.

Pokhara-Dhampus –Naudanda-Pokhara (1 day)
The main focus of the hike in this area is the scenic beauty of Naudanda and the ancient traditional culture and the great panoramic view of mountains from Dhampus village. While walking we pass through the diverse forest with the rhododendron and wild orchid flowers. We walk through the terraced rice fields and through the stone houses with thatched roofs.

Pokhara-Lahachowk - Ghahachowk-Pokhara (2 days)
This route offers the scenic beauty and the oldest settlement rich in culture; we start our walk from the Hemja village, famous for orange garden. We cross Seti and Mardi River to reach this typical Gurung village.

Pokhara - Chapakot-Pokhara (1 day)
After the 45 minute drive from Pokhara, we start walking from Pame west of Pokhara. We follow the Harpan River, the source of Phewa Lake then climb the hills with small villages. We walk through paddy field with the mountain and lake view.

Pokhara-Ramche Danda- Pokhara (1-2 days)
After 45 minutes drive south of Pokhara, we start our 7 hours hike climbing the hills, passing through villages and cultivated land. We walk through the forest of religious Chandan and oak tree. The smell of mountain can be sensed when we walk through the extensive forest of Rhododendron.

Pokhara- World Peace Pagoda -Pokhara (1 day)
World Peace Pagoda, a massive Buddhist stupa is situated on the top of a hill on the southern shore of Phewa Lake. Besides being a impressive sight in itself, the shrine is a great vantage point which offers the spectacular views of the Annapurna range, Phewa Lake, and the Pokhara city. We Climb the Raniban forest crossing the suspension bridge. After the 2 hours of walk we reach stupa and enjoy the spiritual and scenic beauty. Climbing down from Pagoda is more enjoyable with the view of Phewa Lake and the mountains. We cross the lake after the 20 minutes of boating with the visit to island temple (Barahi temple) in the middle of lake.

Pokhara - Foksing-Pokhara (1-2 days)
Around 10 minutes of drive south of pokhara we climb the hill passing the suspension bridge. The Foksing hill is popular for its fascinating mountain view. The Orange garden and the terraced rice fields and the typical Nepali houses with thatched roof can be experienced. The length of stay could be prolonged if you are interested to stay overnight with the villagers.

Pokhara-Kahun Danda – Pokhara (1-2 days)
Normally, this is one day hiking route but if you are interested to spend some time with the villagers you can make it for 2 days. The Khaun Danda (1520 m) to the northeast of Pokhara has a ruined fort on the summit as well as a view tower with spectacular scenery. The dramatic change of colors after the sunrise on the Annapurnas gives you the experience of natural beauty.

Pokhara-Kalikasthan-Pokhara (1-2 days)
This is the best view point to view the serene 7 lakes around Pokhara. The panoramic view of Annapurnas and the experience of village life is the highlight of the hiking.

Biking Around the Katmandu Valley rim


Balaju – Kakani
The route to kakani (alt 1982 m) branches off at Balaju bypass. It is a slow and easy ascent to this hill resort 23 km northwest of Katmandu. The trip offers a magnificent view of Ganesh Himal along with the fresh and serene atmosphere of the hills.

Bhaktapur – Daman
Bhaktapur (12 km east of Katmandu ) to Banepa (14 km From Bhaktapur ), a historical town on the way to Tibet , is terrific for mountain biking .From Banepa we can take a side- trip south to Panauti (7 km )or east to Dhulikhel (6 km ).An interesting circuit is Banepa to Dhulikhel(6km ) to Namara (7 km ) to Panauti (8 Km ) To Banepa (7 k m )

Kathmandu- Daman
The 75 km stretch up to Daman on the Tribhuvan Highway has been described as the best bike ride in Nepal.Untill the bypass through Mugling opened about two decades ago, this was the only road to India The good news for bikers is that there is very little traffic on the Highway now. The road spirals up and down endless hills and passes through broad valleys and small villages. Exit the Katmandu valley at Thankot (10 km west of Katmandu) and on the Naubise (25 km) where the road forks. Turn left to Tistung (59 km) and on to Palung (65 km) and finally Daman (altitude 2400 m). There is a view tower here which offers an incredible 400-km panorama of the Himalaya extending from Annapurna to Everest. The bike ride to Daman takes all day.

Kathmandu – Kodari
The 114-km highway linking Katmandu with Kodari on the Chinese border follows the ancient trade route to Lasha.Known as Araniko Highway, this spectacular road leads east past Bhaktapur, Banepa,Dhulikhel and Dolalghat and then turns north following the course of the Sunkoshi and Bhotekoshi rivers. Picturesque villages and tranquil terraced fields against a backdrop of green hills are the scenic rewards on the trail. The trip takes four days up and down .Overnight at Dhulikhle or Barhabise (88 km from Katmandu) and Tatopani (3 km Before Kodari) where the hot springs are an added attraction.

Pokhara-Kahundanda-Pokhara

Sarangkot- Kaskikot-Naudanda-Hemja
Distance: 55km | Altitude gain: 500 m / Grade-Strenuous
Start riding from Bindyabasini temple, pass through the Sarangkot View point where you will have a Bird’s eye view of Pokhara valley and enjoy the panoramic view of the Annapurna Ranges. You will further pass through the small villages of Kaskikot (The ruined fort) and can view the 2 tails of mount fishtail from Naudanda.Get down riding through Hyamja where you can visit the Tibetan refugee camp.

Pokhara-Lamachaur-Puranchaur-Lahachowk-Ghahachowk-Milanchowk-pokhara
Distance: 40km Altitude gain: 200m / Grade-Easy
Starts riding from the Lmachaur, north of Pokhara, pass through the Akala temple where the bird eye view of Seti River and the green pasture is beautiful. After crossing the beautiful cultivated land of Puranchaur Village cross the Mardi River to head towards Lahachok and Ghachowk, the beautiful Gurung Settlements. Cross the Seti River ride towards pokhara via Milanchowk

Davis fall-Kristi- Nirmal Pokhari-Pokhara
Distance: 35km | Altitude gain: 200m / Grade-Moderate
Almost 10% off-road biking through Davis Fall and down to cross Furse Khola about 8 km Jeep track upto Kristi Danda. You can enjoy the spectacular mountain views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Annapurnas. We turn toward Nirmal Pokhari on fantastic off-road with single trail down to the Seti River and back to Pokhara.

Pokhara-Pumdi-World Peace Pagoda-Pokhara
Distance: 35km | Altitude gain: 400m / Grade-Moderate
Start riding towards Damside passing the Davis falls; follow the Siddhartha Highway to Khadekhola. Start the off-road climb for approx. 3 km on Jeep track to the Japanese Danda on the road to Pumdi. Turn east towards Bhumdi and stop for refreshment and excellent views of Fewa Lake and the Himalayas. We ride downhill to the World Peace Pagoda and further down to the highway and Lakeside.

Bijayapur-kalikastahn-Begnas Lake
Distance: 38 km|Altitude gain: 200 m /Grade-Strenuous
After 6 km from Pokhara, Start riding wide jeep track up the Kalikasthan from Bijayapur Khola.We will have a great view of mountains and the glorious view of 7 lakes around Pokhara valley.The off-road ride ends at Begnas Lake.

Pokhara-Hemja-Astam-Dhampus- Pokhara
Distance: 40 km| Altitude Gain: 300 m /Grade- Moderate plus
The ride to Dhampus and Astam offers the great view of the mountains and the scenery of rice fields, Rivers and the mountain Villages. You will have both the cultural and natural experience with the adventurous ride.

Pokhara-Pame-Paundur-Pokhara
Distance: 50 km| Altitude Gain: 500 m /Grade –Strenuous
From Pokhara follow the northern lakeshore road towards the Sedibagar. Now off-road, follow this track through to Pame, crossing some minor rivulets in the rain season.Furthermore, ride uphill to Paundur.We pass through different small villages and From Nau Danda half inclined way to Sarangkot via Kaskikot.The Sarangkot is considered to be the beautiful location for the super view of mountains and the Pokhara valley.

Damside-Mahatgauda-Dobilla-Bagmara-Bhandardhik-Pokhara
Distance: 40 km| Altitude Gain: 200 m/Grade-Moderate
From Damside ride towards the eastern village Mahat gauda.After Mahatgauda follow the wide jeep track uphill Dobilla. The Bagmara village offers the excellent experience of the Nepalese Village and the scenic beauty of the Himalayas. Crossing the Seti River, comes Bhandardhik from where the off-road ends and start the easy ride to Pokhara.

Pokhara-Kahundanda-Pokhara
Distance: 30 km| Altitude Gain: 300 m/Grade-Strenuous
Start riding from Fulbari near Manipal college, follow the wide jeep track up the Kahun Danda.The Uphill is quite strenuous. Pass through the Gurung village, school and temple. The ride offers the excellent view of mountains and the beautiful scenery of pokhara valley and the Seti River.
