Jiri To Everest Base Camp


Those who wish to complete the same trail used by Hillary and Tenzing and make their way up to Everest region must try Everest Base Camp via Jiri trek, a small village in the eastern region of Nepal. The Jiri route offers incomparable combination of natural and cultural wonders.Varying altitudes, diverse floras and faunas, ethnic cultures and indigenous lifestyles are some of the highlights of the trek. It takes you from the midland hills through the beaten tracks into the Himalaya. You can enjoy majestic vistas of the mountains, along with surrounding landscapes covered with rhododendron, magnolia and alpine forests.The portion of the trek from Jiri to Phakding offers a soothing experience with its calm surroundings and quiet landscapes. It involves a great deal of uphill/downhill hiking, and passing through countless number of villages -observe and mingle with the local inhabitants.Some of the major higlights of Everest Base Camp trek are; wandering through Sagarmatha National Park(UNESCO World Heritage Site), visiting Sherpa villages of Namche Bazaar and Phakding and the extraordinary hike of Kala Patthar (5,545 m/18,187 ft).

Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)

Kathmandu sightseeing & trek preparation

Day 03:

Kathmandu to Jiri (2,370m/7,774ft), 8-9 hrs drive

Day 04:

Trek to Bhandar (2,190m/7,183ft), 5-6 hrs walk

Day 05:

Trek to Sete (2,575m/8,446ft), 4-5 hrs walk

Day 06:

Trek to Lamjura pass (3,530/11,578) to Junbesi (2,680m/8,790ft), 6-7 hrs walk.

Day 07:

Rest day at Junbesi

Day 08:

Trek to Nunthala (2,330m/7,642ft), 5-6 hrs walk

Day 09:

Trek to Bupsa (2300m/7,544ft), 4-5 hrs walk

Day 10:

Trek to Surkhe (2,290m7, 511ft), 4-6 hrs walk

Day 11:

Trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,561ft), 4-5 hrs walk

Day 12:

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft), 5-6 hrs walk

Day 13:

Acclimatization day at Namche

Day 14:

Trek to Tyangboche (3,867m/12684ft), 5-6 hrs walk

Day 15:

Trek to Dingboche (4,358m/14,295 ft), 5-6 hrs walk

Day 16:

Acclimatization day at Dingboche

Day 17:

Trek to Lobuche (4,928m/16164 ft), 5-6 hrs walk

Day 18:

Trek to Gorakshep (5,160m/16,929ft) & Everest base camp (5,316m/17,437ft), 7-8 hrs walk

Day 19:

Kalapathar (5,550m/18,204ft) hike and stroll back to Pheriche (4,200m/13,776ft), 6-7 hrs walk

Day 20:

Trek to Kyanjuma (3,500m/11,480ft), 5-6 hrs walk

Day 21:

Trek to Khumjung to Monju (2,850m/9,348ft), 6-7 hrs walk

Day 22:

Trek to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), 4-5 hrs walk

Day 23:

Fly back to Kathmandu

Day 24:

Leisure at Kathmandu

The Trip Cost Includes

  • Necessary equipment that required for Camping trek.
  • 1 experienced and license holder trekking guide and his daily meal, wage & accommodation.
