Koshi Tappu Reserve, located at the downpour plains of the Sapta-Koshi River in the Eastern lowlands of Nepal was, titled as wildlife Reserve center in 1976 with area of 175 sq km. Considered to be the very last home of the Arna (wild water buffalo) and hundreds of other species of birds and animals, Koshi Tappu is the paradise for bird watchers and animal enthusiasts. What makes this area truly majestic is the presence of Makalu in the horizon – the world’s fifth highest mountain! It is indeed a unique opportunity to find yourself in the middle of a tropical jungle while at the same time having the chance to enjoy the views of the highest Himalayan peaks! Elephant safaris, jungle walks, jeep safaris and canoeing are only a number of opportunities that this place has to offer. Chose your own activities in order to explore the jungle at your own place. 01 Day: Departure from Kathmandu by air or drive -arrival at the hotel- a short bird watching tour around the marshland - back to hotel
02 Day: Breakfast- full day excursion in the reserve on jeep and on the boat across the forest to watch waterfowl, birds of prey, marsh crocodile, otters, wild water buffalos, fresh water dolphins, among others - back to hotel
03 Day: Breakfast- walk through the grasslands for bird watching with packed lunch- elephant safari to view wild water buffalos and blue bull, including some hog deer and birds - back to hotel
04 Day: Breakfast - fly back or drive to Kathmandu or other selected destinations
