Royal Chitwan National Park
Royal Chitwan National Park
is the first and famous
national park of Nepal. The
park offers a wilderness of
rich ecosystem that includes
mammals, birds, reptiles,
and water animals of several
kinds. The various
endangered species like
Great Asian, one horned
Rhinoceros, elusive Royal
Bengal tiger, sloth bears,
Leopards, Gaur, Sambar,
Spotted Deer, the endangered
Gharial crocodile, and
countless species of birds.
Unique birds with over 450
species discovered so far,
include stork, geese,
cormorants, egrets, king
fishers and endangered
species like the Bengal
florician, lesser flosician,
Indian pitta and Parakeets
making this park a
birdwatchers paradise. Owing
to its rich adornment of
nature the park was declared
UNESCO natural Heritage site
in 1979.
